Federal Housing Finance Agency: U.S. House Prices Rise 5.7 Percent Over the Last Year, Up 0.9 Percent From the First Quarter of 2024
WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 (TNSres) -- The Federal Housing Finance Agency issued the following news release on Aug. 27, 2024:
U.S. house prices rose 5.7 percent between the second quarter of 2023 and the second quarter of 2024, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) House Price Index (FHFA HPI(R)). House prices were up 0.9 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024. FHFA's seasonally adjusted monthly index for June was down 0.1 percent from May.

Rhode Island: EPA Announces $336,000 in Grants to Protect Children From Lead in Drinking Water at Schools and Childcare Facilities
WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 -- The Environmental Protection Agency issued the following news release:
BOSTON (AUGUST 27, 2024) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced $26 million in funding, including $336,000 allotted for Rhode Island, to protect children from lead in drinking water at schools and childcare facilities. This grant funding will be used to reduce lead exposure where children learn and play while advancing the goals of the Biden-Harris Administration's Lead Pipe and Paint
