Governor Kay Ivey on Wednesday signed Senate Bill 270, a bill to set specific timelines that public entities in Alabama must follow when responding to public records requests. Sponsored by Sen. Arthur Orr and Rep. Cynthia Almond, Senate Bill 270 is the most significant amendment to Alabama's public records law in over fifty years.

Media Tip Sheet: Planters Nuts Recalled Due to Possible Listeria Contamination
WASHINGTON, May 8 -- George Washington University issued the following news:
Two types of Planters nuts are being recalled due to the risk of potential listeria contamination.
The manufacturer, Hormel Foods, says the recall affects certain Planters honey roasted peanuts and Planters mixed nuts shipped to Publix warehouses in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina. This als impacts Dollar Tree warehouses in South Carolina and Georgia.
There have been no reports of illnesses.
