Deep in the difficult terrain of the Gulf Coast high marsh lives a tiny, dark and white-speckled bird called the black rail. These elusive birds that make their homes near muddy waters and among sharp-bladed grasses are easier to hear than see. Yet to catch their distinct sound "kick-ee-kerr" is a rare experience.

MSU's Raspet Flight Research Lab Celebrates 75 Years of Advancing Aviation
STARKVILLE, Mississippi, March 20 -- Mississippi State University issued the following news:
Seventy five years ago, August "Gus" Raspet came to Mississippi State University to carry out a vision for aerospace research that pushed the boundaries of what is possible in flight.
On Tuesday [March 19], more than 100 people gathered to celebrate the continued success of that vision as MSU marked Raspet Flight Research Lab's 75th anniversary.
