WASHINGTON, Feb. 13 -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Bureau of Transportation Statistics issued the following news release on Feb. 12, 2024:

U.S. airline industry (passenger and cargo airlines combined) employment decreased to 812,698 workers in December 2023, 1,492 (0.18%) fewer workers than in November 2023 (814,190) and 63,208 (8.43%) more than in pre-pandemic December 2019 (749,490).
