Atrium Health Implements Market-Leading Minimum Wage Increase
WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina, Jan. 13 -- Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist issued the following news release:
As the new year sets in, many Atrium Health teammates will be seeing a larger paycheck. Effective Jan. 14, the health system will increase base pay for the bulk of its workforce by a minimum of 3%, with its hourly minimum wage also increasing to a health care market-leading $17.50 per hour in both the Charlotte and Winston-Salem markets. The system's current minimum is $16.50 per hour.

Va. U.S. Attorney: Leaders of North Carolina Drug-Trafficking Organization, Bloods Gang Member, and Triggerman Sentenced to Life in Prison for Norfolk Murder-for-Hire
NORFOLK, Virginia, Jan. 13 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia issued the following news release on Jan. 12, 2024:
Four Greensboro, North Carolina men were sentenced today to life in prison for their role in a murder-for-hire conspiracy that resulted in the death of 59-year-old Norfolk resident, Lillian Bond, on April 19, 2016.
