Natchez Trace Parkway Open Near Tupelo, Mississippi
WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 -- The National Park Service Natchez Trace Parkway issued the following news release:
The closed section of Natchez Trace Parkway, Milepost 239.2 (near Highway 32) to Milepost 256.9 (Near Highway 6), has reopened to traffic.
Travelers should expect single lane closures into Summer 2024.
Work continues to add an additional layer of asphalt, add permanent striping, and grade the shoulder.

Texas Gov. Abbott Appoints Five To Texas Board Of Architectural Examiners
AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 16 -- Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, issued the following news release:
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Eva Read-Warden and reappointed Rosa Salazar and Joyce Smith to the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners for terms to expire on January 31, 2029.
