Institute for Justice: No Foodborne Illness Reported in Seven States That Allow Sale of Homemade Perishable Food
ARLINGTON, Virginia, Sept. 7 -- The Institute for Justice issued the following news release on Sept. 6, 2023:
New data, released today by the Institute for Justice (IJ), show states that permit home cooks to sell perishable foods do not see an increase in foodborne illnesses. The data, obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests in the seven states with the broadest homemade food laws, show that none of these states have ever confirmed any cases of foodborne illness attributed to food
