W.Va. Gov. Justice Announces $22.8 Million Revenue Surplus for August
CHARLESTON, West Virginia, Sept. 2 -- Gov. Jim Justice, R-West Virginia, issued the following news release on Sept. 1, 2023:
Gov. Jim Justice announced today that West Virginia's General Revenue collections for August 2023, the second month of Fiscal Year 2024, came in at $410.8 million, which is $22.8 million above estimate. The surplus was led by strong consumer sales tax. Year-to-date revenue collections of $745.8 million stand at $30.5 million above estimate.
