Mich. A.G. Nessel Pushes FDA to Protect Kids From E-Cigarette Addiction
LANSING, Michigan, Sept. 1 -- Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel issued the following news release:
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and a bipartisan coalition of 33 attorneys general called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and its Center for Tobacco Products to do more to protect kids from e-cigarettes. Nessel's suggestions include limiting the flavors that draw kids in, reducing nicotine levels to prevent addiction, and protecting young people from marketing.

U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa: Leaders of 'Massive' Ice Methamphetamine Conspiracy Sentenced to 63 Total Years in Federal Prison
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Sept. 1 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa issued the following news release:
Two men who orchestrated the transportation and distribution of over 500 pounds of ice methamphetamine to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, were sentenced on August 16 and 30, 2023, to a total of 63 years in federal prison.
Derek Michael Mims, age 32, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, received the prison term after a February 7, 2023 guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to distribute

Utah A.G. Reyes Joins Coalition to Protect Children From Lewd and Obscene Behavior
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 1 -- Utah Attorney General Sean D. Reyes issued the following news on Aug. 31, 2023:
This week, Utah Attorney General Sean D. Reyes joined an 18-state coalition supporting Tennessee's defense of its Adult Entertainment Act (AEA), protecting minors from lewd and obscene behavior. A district court incorrectly ruled against the law, and the attorneys general support the appeal of that initial ruling.
