N.C. U.S. Attorney: Fentanyl Dealer Gets More Than 24 Years for Selling Fentanyl That Resulted in Young Man's Overdose Death
RALEIGH, North Carolina, May 19 -- The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Michael F. Easley Jr., issued the following news release on May 18, 2023:
A fentanyl dealer was sentenced today to 292 months in federal prison for distributing a mixture and substance containing cyclopropyl fentanyl that killed a 20-year-old. Shamel Nesbitt, 32, was convicted by a jury on the charge on August 31, 2022. Nesbitt was living in Smithfield at the time the crime was committed.
