Lankford Votes to Protect Police in Nation's Capitol
WASHINGTON, May 17 -- Sen. James Lankford, R-Oklahoma, issued the following news release on May 16, 2023:
Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today voted to stop the Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act that was adopted by the DC City Council. Crime in DC has skyrocketed since "Defund the Police" policies have prevailed in the past few years. The resolution passed in a vote of 56 to 43.
