Asheville Regional Airport: Airport Breaks Ground On New Air Traffic Control Tower, A Once-In-Decades Historic Event
FLETCHER, North Carolina, Jan. 26 -- The Asheville Regional Airport issued the following news on Jan. 25, 2023:
Asheville Regional Airport and the Federal Aviation Administration joined together today to break ground on a new air traffic control tower (ATCT). The new ATCT will replace the existing 62-year-old tower, which is one of the oldest in the country and is currently located within the airport terminal. The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, the No. 1 pharmacy school in the country, and East Carolina University have established an early assurance program (EAP).
