The 2022 Marcus Wallenberg Prize is awarded to Professor Herbert Sixta and Professor Ilkka Kilpelainen for the development and use of novel ionic liquids to process wood biomass into high-performance textile fibres.

Governor Newsom has signed CA AB 1817 into law. As previously reported, AB 1817 prohibits the sale in California of textile products (including bedding) containing intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Although this bill does not define the term "bedding," other California statutes define the term to include mattresses.
