National Energy Technology Laboratory Patents Technology to Obtain Key Data From Ultra-Deep Subsurface Locations
PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania, Sept. 7 -- The U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory issued the following news:

Oak Ridge National Laboratory: Improving Materials for Energy Storage, Generation
OAK RIDGE, Tennessee, Sept. 7 -- The U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory issued the following news release:
A multi-lab research team led by Paul Kent of Oak Ridge National Laboratory is developing a computer application called QMCPACK to enable precise and reliable predictions of the fundamental properties of materials critical in energy research.
The application uses quantum Monte Carlo simulations to compute material properties down at the level of atoms and electrons.
