Rep. Adams Issues Statement on Reinstatement of North Carolina's 20-Week Abortion Ban
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, Aug. 20 -- Rep. Alma S. Adams, D-North Carolina, issued the following news release on Aug. 19, 2022:
Yesterday,U.S. District Judge William Osteen reinstated an unenforced 1973 state law that established a 20-week abortion ban in North Carolina. The ruling comes in the wake of the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization; Osteen originally enjoined the 20-week ban in 2019.
