Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District to Host Mississippi River Commission Public Meeting
VICKSBURG, Mississippi, Aug. 10 -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Vicksburg District issued the following news release:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District will host the Mississippi River Commission's (MRC) public meeting, Aug. 24, from 2-5 p.m., at the Vicksburg City Front aboard the Motor Vessel Mississippi.
As part of its annual low water inspection trip, the MRC will hold public meetings from August 22-26 at the following locations:

Illinois Army National Guard Senior Leader, Former Mount Vernon Police Captain, Retires After 34 Years of Military Service
SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, Aug. 9 (TNSper) -- The Illinois National Guard issued the following news:
Illinois Army National Guard 1st Sgt. Ryan Crews of Mount Vernon retired after 34 years of military service during an Aug. 7 ceremony at Illinois National Guard headquarters on Camp Lincoln, Springfield.
Crews enlisted in the Guard in September 1988. After completing basic training and advanced individual training, he received his qualification as a Tactical Microwave and Satellite Repairer.
