Martinez was a prominent community leader who worked as a Harris County nurse for 30 years and 5 years as Deputy Sheriff, served the Houston area through countless organizations and advocacy groups, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Sen. Warren Introduces Bill to Establish Free On-Line Tax Preparation Programs
WASHINGTON, July 14 -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 4508) to "amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to establish a free on-line tax preparation and filing service and programs that allow taxpayers to access third-party provided tax return information and information held by the Internal Revenue Service."

Sen. Warren Introduces Bill to Expand Youth Access to Voting
WASHINGTON, July 13 -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., has introduced legislation (S. 4500) to "expand youth access to voting."
The bill was introduced on July 11 and has six co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Sens. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., Cory Booker, D-N.J., Ron Wyden, D-Ore., Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and Mazie K. Hirono, D-Hawaii.
The legislation was referred to the Senate Rules and Administration Committee.
