WASHINGTON, April 2 (TNSRes) -- The American College of Cardiology issued the following news release: Patients undergoing noncardiac surgery who received a single dose of tranexamic acid (TXA), which promotes blood clotting, at the beginning and end of their surgery had significantly less serious bleeding and needed fewer blood transfusions compared with patients treated with a placebo, based on findings presented at the American College of Cardiology's 71st Annual Scientific Session.
