- USDA Forest Service Welcomes New National Director of Fire, Aviation Management
WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 (TNSPer) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service issued the following news release on Jan. 12, 2022:
Jerry Perez is stepping into a critical role for the USDA Forest Service as its newest national director for fire and aviation management. Perez will oversee all aspects of the agency's fire and aviation program, including the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho and the National Fire Training Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Center for Biological Diversity: Lawsuit Challenges Destructive Grazing in Agua Fria National Monument
TUCSON, Arizona, Jan. 13 (TNSPol) -- The Center for Biological Diversity issued the following news release on Jan. 12, 2022:
The Center for Biological Diversity and Maricopa Audubon Society sued the U.S. Bureau of Land Management today to challenge widespread, destructive cattle grazing in streams and riparian areas of the Agua Fria National Monument in central Arizona.
