Chad Fisher Named National Park Service Chief of Wildland Fire
WASHINGTON, March 13 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service issued the following news release:
Chad Fisher, who has served as the National Park Service's (NPS) wildland fire operations program leader since 2017, has been selected as the NPS chief for the Branch of Wildland Fire. In this position he will lead the team responsible for operations, science and ecology, and planning and budget for the Service's wildland fire management program.

Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) reintroduced the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area (BRNHA) Reauthorization Act. This legislation extends the authorization of BRNHA through 2036 to preserve Western North Carolina's cultural, historic, and natural resources while continuing to develop economic opportunities in the region.
