WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 -- OPTICAL SCIENTIFIC, Gaithersburg, Maryland, won a federal contract award for $1,335,000 from the Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Norfolk, Virginia, for the refurbishment of several parts within the weather sensor light emitting diode weather identifier used on the National Weather Service automated surface observing system.
