WASHINGTON, Aug. 13 -- UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT & STATE AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE, Burlington, Vermont, won a federal contract award for $736,008 from the Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, for large-scale DNA extraction capabilities for the Center for Alzheimer's and Related Dementias to execute genotyping of over 13,000 samples from the Reasons for Geographic and Racial Difference in Stroke (REGARDS) project.
