ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 6 -- The U.S. Navy has been assigned a patent (9,459,079) developed by two co-inventors for a "lightweight armor with slide region for slidably redirecting projectiles." The co-inventors are Philip Dudt, North Bethesda, Maryland, and Alyssa Littlestone, Washington.
