Federal Court Upholds MSPB Ruling on Retirement Overpayment Debt

WASHINGTON, March 29 -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has affirmed a decision by the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) regarding a dispute over retirement benefits. The court's ruling, issued on March 24, 2025, in the case of Richardson v. Office of Personnel Management, upholds the MSPB's determination that Mr. Richardson owes $11,036.76 due to an overpayment of Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS) disability annuity benefits.
