FCC: CenturyLink to Retire Copper Facilities in Boulder, Colorado

WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 -- CenturyLink, an incumbent local exchange carrier (LEC), has filed a certification with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to retire copper network facilities in Boulder, Colorado. The retirement is in response to a county prohibition on continued use of aerial facilities in the area.

CenturyLink says there are currently no circuits in use on these facilities, and they intend to assess the need for replacement facilities going forward.
