BLACKSBURG, Virginia, Nov. 20 -- Virginia Tech issued the following news:
As a child, Dorothy McCargo Freeman pulled tobacco leaves on a hot Southside Virginia farm to make money to buy supplies for 4-H camp.
Not for herself, though. She worked hard so that her younger sister could go to 4-H camp at Smith Mountain Lake.
"My siblings and I worked to save money to make sure that she had the right things and the right clothes to go to camp," Freeman . . .
