NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (TNSres) -- The National Multiple Sclerosis Society issued the following news:
A study funded in part by the National MS Society finds an association between ineffective myelin repair, a specific protein, and nerve cell death.
Background: The protective coating around nerve fibers - called myelin - is damaged in multiple sclerosis (MS). Long-lasting myelin damage is harmful to nerve cells and could lead to cell death, which increases disability in MS. . . .
