DEL RIO, Texas, Nov. 1 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas issued the following news release on Oct. 31, 2024:
The leader of a human smuggling organization (HSO) was sentenced in a federal court in Del Rio to 360 months in federal prison on Wednesday.
According to court documents, Roberto Galeas-Mejia, 48, of Honduras, led a San Antonio-based HSO, overseeing activities that included the transportation and harboring of undocumented noncit . . .
