RICHMOND, Virginia, Oct. 11 -- Gov. Glenn Youngkin, R-Virginia, issued the following news release on Oct. 10, 2024:
Governor Glenn Youngkin today issued Executive Directive Eight, deploying targeted resources in response to the Emergency Management Assistance Compact Request from the State of Florida to help respond to Milton's effects. Virginia's response will focus on preserving life, preventing destruction of public and private property, and protecting the environment.
