Senate Passes Scott, Manchin Bipartisan Resolution Dedicating September 2024 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 -- Sen. Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, issued the following news release:

Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Senator Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) applauded the Senate passage of their bipartisan resolution to designate September 2024 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children past infancy; each year, more than 14,500 children under the age of 19 are diagnosed with cancer.
