WASHINGTON, Sept. 19 -- Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-New Mexico, issued the following news release:
Today, the Senate passed supplemental appropriations legislation, based on a bipartisan bill cosponsored by U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), that will protect veterans' earned benefits and ensure the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is able to continue to pay disability compensation, surviving spouses and dependent compensation, pension, and education benefits to veterans.
