WACO, Texas, Sept. 10 -- The American Football Coaches Association issued the following news:
The Emporia State (Kan.) defense allowed only one third down conversion on 20 attempts and held Angelo State (Tex.) to just four field goals in their 17-12 victory. The win moved the Hornets into the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl, at No. 21 while the Rams dropped out. Emporia State, now 2-0 on the season, will travel to No. 4 Pittsburg State (Kan.) for a big top 25 matchu . . .
