U.S. Attorney for D.C.: Founder of Casa Ruby Pleads Guilty to Stealing at Least $150,000 in COVID-Relief Funds for Personal Use

WASHINGTON, July 18 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia issued the following news release on July 17, 2024:

Ruby Corado, 53, the founder of Casa Ruby, Inc., a Washington D.C.-based non-profit that provided services to the LGBTQ+ community, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court to diverting at least $150,000 in taxpayer-backed emergency Covid relief funds to private off-shore bank accounts for her personal use.
