Just four months after sustaining head injuries in a car accident that had threatened to sideline him, Sgt. Andy Valdes of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command's Institute of Surgical Research at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houstob accomplished his goal of earning the prestigious Expert Field Medical Badge in May.
