WASHINGTON, July 10 -- Rep. Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, issued the following news release:
Today, Chairman Jodey Arrington issued the following statement after voting in favor of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, of which he is a proud cosponsor, which requires states to obtain proof of citizenship when registering an individual to vote and removes non-citizens from existing voter roles:
"Allowing non-citizens to vote in elections is unconscionabl . . .
