WASHINGTON, July 10 -- Rep. Clay Higgins, R-Louisiana, issued the following news release:
Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) voted to pass H.R. 8281, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require proof of citizenship for voters to register for federal elections while enabling states to remove non-citizens from voter rolls. Congressman Higgins is an original co-sponsor of the legislation.
