WASHINGTON, May 31 -- Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi, issued the following news release:
TUNICA COUNTY - The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) recently announced that they were considering housing unaccompanied migrant children in Tunica County, Mississippi. If the plan was approved, up to 2,000 children would have been housed at a vacant hotel. Last night, the Tunica Board of Supervisors voted to halt this proposal.
