MCALLEN, Texas, April 19 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas issued the following news release:
Two men have been sentenced for their roles in a cocaine smuggling operation, announced U.S. Attorney Alamdar S. Hamdani.
Argelio Chavero, 51, Alton, and Agustin Romero Jr., 41, U.S. citizen residing in Mexico, pleaded guilty April 24, 2023, and Dec. 19, 2022, respectively, to importing 12 kilograms of cocaine from Mexico.
