WASHINGTON, April 8 -- Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts, issued the following news release:

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) sent a letter to the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts, Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Municipal Association, encouraging them to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) new round of Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) to provide direct federal funding for fire departments . . .
