WASHINGTON, April 2 -- Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-New Jersey, issued the following news release:
"Chief Judge Godbey's letter further demonstrates why Congress urgently needs to pass my legislation to end the harmful practice of 'judge shopping.' We cannot allow anti-abortion extremists to cherry-pick an outcome through this dangerous and partisan practice. The Judicial Conference's new policy to curtail this loophole was a welcomed step but we must put federal protections in place . . .
