INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, March 5 -- The Indiana Senate Republicans issued the following news release:
A bill sponsored by State Sen. Greg Goode (R-Terre Haute) to establish the Hoosier First Responder Medal of Honor will now head to the governor's desk.
House Enrolled Act 1142 would create the model and allow the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to determine if an Indiana first responder is eligible for the medal based on their service to the state.
