Sierra Club: New York Awards Fourth Round Of Offshore Wind Projects

NEW YORK, March 1 -- The Sierra Club issued the following statement on Feb. 29, 2024:

Today, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) awarded the fourth round of offshore wind power purchase agreements to Empire Wind 1 (Equinor) and Sunrise Wind (Orsted and Eversource). The development of Empire Wind 1 will provide 810 megawatts of energy and Sunrise Wind will provide 924 megawatts of energy, which together will power one million home . . .
