Sen. Tester Secures More Than $9.8 Million for Wildfire Mitigation in Kootenai National Forest

WASHINGTON, Feb. 21 -- Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana, issued the following news release on Feb. 20, 2024:
As a direct result of his bipartisan infrastructure law and the Inflation Reduction Act, U.S. Senator Jon Tester today announced $9,846,884 for wildfire mitigation in the Kootenai National Forest, including forest thinning, prescribed burns, and planting on U.S. Forest Service (USFS) land and state lands where there are agreements in place between the state and county.
