Blackburn, Tillis, Cornyn Introduce Bill to Strengthen Penalty for Killing Law Enforcement Officers

WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 -- Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, issued the following news release:

U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), and John Cornyn (R-Texas) introduced legislation that would require any individual convicted of murdering a federal, state, and local enforcement officer to receive the death penalty or life imprisonment. In addition, the Justice for Fallen Law Enforcement Act would create a criminal penalty of 20 years in prison for assault re . . .
