U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) sent a letter with seven of his Republican Senate colleagues urging U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to reopen railway commerce at the southern border after the Biden administration closed rail routes in Eagle Pass and El Paso to move inspection personnel to focus on processing migrants illegally crossing the border earlier this week:
