WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 -- The Sierra Club issued the following statement on Dec. 6, 2023:

Today, the House Natural Resources Committee voted on Rep. Pete Stauber's "Alaska's Right to Produce Act," a bill which would reinstate oil and gas leases in the Arctic Refuge that the Department of the Interior identified as having serious legal deficiencies. President Biden canceled those leases in September.
