Yale Study Gives Grandmother Gecko a Place of Honor - and a New Name

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut, Nov. 29 (TNSres) -- Yale University issued the following news:

Helioscopus dickersonae lived in North America in the late Jurassic period, 100 million years earlier than any previously known early gecko relative.

Yale paleontologists have identified a new fossil lizard, found in the western United States, which they say was an ancestor of modern geckos. And they gave it a name that honors the lead researcher' . . .
