PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island, Nov. 10 -- The U.S. Attorney for the District of Rhode Island, Zachary A. Cunha, issued the following news release on Nov. 9, 2023:
A clinical social worker today admitted to a federal judge that she helped devise and execute a scheme that shortchanged Rhode Island and Massachusetts substance abuse disorder patients out of counseling and treatment services while, at the same time, defrauding Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurers out of more than $3. . . .
