LOS ANGELES, California, Nov. 9 -- The U.S. Attorney for Central District of California, Martin Estrada, issued the following news release on Nov. 7, 2023:
A disbarred New York City lawyer, who simultaneously represented the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and a ratepayer suing the City of Los Angeles in the wake of an LADWP billing debacle, was sentenced today to 33 months in federal prison for accepting a kickback of nearly $2.2 million for causing another lawyer . . .
