DALLAS, Texas, Nov. 6 -- The American Heart Association issued the following news release:
Research Highlights:
Adults aged 18- to 44-years-old who are long-term tobacco users and have prediabetes (higher than normal blood sugar levels) are at a 3 times greater risk of stroke.
The results come from a national study of more than 1 million U.S. hospital admissions among young adult tobacco users without other known cardiovascular risk factors.
